Teams are challenged to mine the diamonds from the faraway valley, but on the way, lies an obstacle – The Humongous Amazonia Rainforest. 

At every inch of the forest lurks danger.

The teams have to meticulously plan their resources, skillfully strategize their journey, collaborate and take decisions jointly. If they don’t, they will be doomed for failure.

Only teams with big picture thinking and an agile mindset will get the diamonds.

The Game Experience – Rain Forest

Maximizing Mindset: Are you playing to win or playing NOT to lose

In Diamonds of Amazonia, many teams start playing with the clarity of the purpose, but forget it as soon as they get overwhelmed with day-to-day pressures and challenges. 

They lose sight of the bigger picture. So instead of maximizing they start surviving. Instead of Playing To Win Big, they start Playing for Not Losing. All this happens gradually and unintentionally, which negatively impacts their performance metrics.

Activity is Not Productivity

In the gameplay many teams put in a lot of hard work, optimize resources and craft strategies to mine diamonds. But not all of them are equally productive.

People are busy, but the question is are they productive? It’s quite possible that the busiest people may be the most unproductive ones. 

In the program debrief, participants learn the key difference between activity and productivity and how to become more productive.

In the game, teams’ performance is measured on the financial parameters. The quality of decisions taken during the gameplay have a direct impact on the teams’ performance.

Many teams make decisions based only on their experience and perceptions. Very few teams take data-driven decisions .

Teams have access to data, but it is so rare to find them to create and maintain the dashboard of key performance metrics to make decisions.

In the debrief participants get a big jolt, when they realize that they could have won the game if they used and made sense of the data that was already with them.
